about

Passage is a new full-length release from the Swedish musician
and producer Albin Johansson. Following the LP MT4X
(Rundgång Rekords, 2018), Passage sets the vibes from the
70s krautrock scene in a contemporary context of downtempo
electro. Using analog synthesizers and drum machines, Albin
has created a melodic and minimal soundscape that loops and
builds on itself. The album was recorded on an eight track tape
machine in Albin’s studio in Malmö.

During the last years, Albin has played over 100 solo shows in
various places such as Malmö, Berlin, Vienna, and New York.
Albin also creates electronic music in collaboration with Mika
Forsling. Under his alias PAL, he has had several releases and
is known for his remix of the Alice Boman song Waiting. Albin
is also a skilled keyboard-player and multi-instrumentalist, and
has worked with many artists, such as Solander and Big Fox.

”Albin’s recent release ‘III’ is a return to the roots of electronic. Moog and Roland synthesizers drag in synth waves reminiscent of the paradoxically dated yet futuristic era of cyber noir cinema. The beat that lies below that synth is more minimalist however, chasing through a reliable pulse.” - ADSR Collective

"A hypnotic headphone trip that is inspired by Cluster and Neu! as it is William Onyeabor” - Tome to the Weather Machine
